VPN On Demand in iOS
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. When a iOS device reboots vpn connection is not reinstated and connection rules are not supported.

I used to love NetBird, but losing connection so often is a huge problem that's keeping me from liking and using NetBird. When I was testing your app this summer on vacation, I would have to restart the tunnel 3-5 times per day, with no guarantee that it would stay on. This may be an annoyance to me, but it will be a huge barrier to enterprise adoption against feature-packed competitors that have had this very simple always-on for years.
From my limited technical knowledge, this looks like it only requires a few lines of code. I want to like and use your product, but I can't see myself using it until this situation changes. This would be a great practical improvement that would make your product so much better.

This feature would lead to moving over from tailscale.
Same for me. I'm waiting for this feature and will have to stick with Tailscale until then.
I want to migrate from native wireguard iOS Client to Netbird. This Feature for me is missing for seamless usage on roaming.
i too would love this feature. currently i've cobbled together a hacky solution using iOS shortcuts, but it doesn't fix the potential random disconnect issue.
+1, I wish i had checked to see if auto-connect was in the iOS app, I only checked that there was an app. I'll stick with tailscale until this feature is implemented.

Hi everyone, we discussed this topic again today with the team and we decided to dedicate some resources to this. While I can't make any promises I hope we will have some basic support for VPN On Demand by the end of this quarter.
Really looking forward to this feature, even more if it would be able if I could combine it with rules like "if im on this wifi don't use netbird", like the native wireguard client works.
Can't wait for this to come out. As soon as VPN on demand arrives I'll be ditching Tailscale and fully switching to NetBird!

I am really sorry I promised and could not deliver. I did start the development but it was not as quick as I was hoping for and I had to jump to other more pressing topics. It is still planned to bring this feature.
On the upside we just recently hired someone dedicated for mobile development so I hope we will get some more progress on iOS soon.
This is the only thing holding me out from migrating my entire infrastructure to netbird. I need the vpn on demand. It's been an open issue for over a year. Hope this gets added soon.
