MTN Irancell AS44244 TCP/TLS censorship currently disabled

Open markpash opened this issue 6 months ago • 3 comments

It appears that the censorship apparatus of MTN Irancell has been partially disabled, leaving only the plain DNS over UDP censorship. Censorship of TCP/TLS isn't present in the MahsaNET tests as DNS over TCP appears to resolve perfectly and TLS connections to blocked sites seem to work without RSTs.

The screenshot is convincing and the texts look like LLM-generated.

The article posted is from before the conflict. Things have changed now and the Internet in Iran is almost entirely blocked. The purpose of the blockage is to prevent people going online, and to force users to use domestic apps which are heavily monitored.
