Hi @Billcrf

Sadly the log(bundled-ckb.log) says nothing

File not found

It means the most basic infrastructure of the wallet, CKB Node, didn't work and it even didn't generate a log file.

In this case, we have to run the CKB node manually to see what error occurs.

I have the same problem, here is my log file. Can someone please help advise how to fix this issue. neuron_debug_1654432074174.zip

My problem is now solved as I opened a new issue with the above and it was fixed there.

Hello, Same issue here, wallet does not sync. I just downloaded wallet couple days ago, it is most updated version. Saw youtube videos #1 and #2 to create a wallet and deposit funds, but I can not move on since it does not sync

It shows: Block Synced 0% 0/3,524,00 (last number changes constantly) Looking for assumed valid target Mainet default node Syncing, ~- left

I am not into all this too tech details. I just need a functional and reliable wallet to use alongside my ledger to save the tokens. Any help here? Thanks. Mila

Looking for assumed valid target

Hi @milavm

If neuron shows Looking for assumed valid target, it works well and will take less than an hour(depends on performance and network) in this state(looking for assumed valid target). It's a feature of CKB to boost synchronization.

Neuron assumes the block https://explorer.nervos.org/block/0x6c914adcfd5289e8c4058e60e83555d5eb04ddc547b6184f1fae72d5f36929a3 is valid and won't be forked, then neuron downloads block headers fleetly from 0 to find out if the blockchain has the target block. Once the target block is hit, neuron assumes blocks before the target are all valid and skip validation during synchronization, which will ease CPU pressure and speed the synchronization up.

Hey Keith, Well, a day ago nothing moved for 7 hours, but actually now it started. Thanks for the explanation.

Hello Keith, Sorry dear, but the sync won't finish.The behavior is strange. About 3 days ago it started from 0% of Block Synced moving up slowly, I mean at least 8 hours I had my computer on. Last two days, when I reconnect my computer, The Block Synced shows 99.6% when I open the Neuron app and slowly goes down over the hours. The app has been opened today for the last 7 hours and now it shows: Block Synced 29.57% 2,213,529 / 7,483,704 Mainet default monde Syncing, ~154:35 left My internet is quite good, I am in a main city with fiber optic, so this is not an issue. I saw someone saying in a publication, it needs to run "both the node software and the wallet (Neuron)". I do not know if I am doing that. Any help?

Hi @milavm

tl;dr

If the first number 2213529 in 2,213,529 / 7,483,704 keeps increasing, the neuron is working well.

There're two types of synchronization in Neuron

  1. CKB node inside neuron synchronize with other ckb nodes(peers);
  2. Neuron synchronizes with data provided by ckb node inside neuron.

The first type depends on performance of PC and internet because it fetches data from other node and validation consumes CPU.

The second type only depends on performance of PC because it fetches data from ckb node locally.

In this case Block Synced 29.57% 2,213,529 / 7,483,704

  1. ckb node inside neuron reaches 7,483,704, almost finished(7,483,811 is the latest block number) so next work has nothing to do with network;
  2. neuron reaches 2,213,529 and has to keep catching up with local ckb node, it can be done even network is lost, just depends on the performance of CPU.

run "both the node software and the wallet (Neuron)"

node software, namely the ckb node, which is embedded inside node and works well from Block Synced 29.57% 2,213,529 / 7,483,704, someone good at programming will use an external ckb node for performance.

The Block Synced shows 99.6% when I open the Neuron app and slowly goes down over the hours.

That's because the synchronization of ckb node is much faster than that of neuron, so the percentage shrinks over time.

I also have an issue but in this instance I cannot withdraw ckb as I get insufficient funds and do withhold 62 ckb for balance (see attached debug zip report for troubleshooting (version 0.103.0)
