@skyzh could you just add some description of what your intention is with this change? And ideally link to a relevant issue? I don't have a ton of context otherwise 🙂

This is for making it easier to work with the repo. The version I put in the PR is the one that can be directly installed from homebrew :) Given now we have merge conflicts of this PR, I can open another one if necessary.
