When engaging open pilot, the car gives an error message to check the forward collision sensor. And gives a few orange error symbols on the car dashboard. (see attached image)

*Using your fork. This was comma.ai's fix but it's already there in values.py under the LFA MFA message. https://github.com/commaai/openpilot/commit/d623a3e4813e350e0085461e78bd1e7c1feb26e2 OP long is WORKING and controlling the gas and brakes on his car without a radar harness but he has this message on the dash.
