Error when modifying badge

I am attempting to remove the paid badge from Rebecca Maxfield, and add a comp badge. (Edit Badge ["admin_ticket/edit"]) Because I'd like to make this change without dropping any current game signups. If you remember, I cannot convert this the usual way because the original purchase is so old that a stripe refund cannot be issued and this is being done manually.

When attempting to add an event-provided comp this way, or remove the purchased badge this way, I get the error "Unauthorized mutation". Which, I have to say, isn't nearly as cool as it sounds. Screenshot attached.
