Use maven style versions for all goals

As far as I understood the plugin will use semantic versioned snapshots versions by default (e.g. for build), but a maven style snapshot can by published by running the snapshot goal.

How can I switch it to use maven style snapshots by default for all tasks? E.g. when having it in the workspace in Intellij together with other projects, I would prefer to use maven style versions (mainly because of historic reasons/simpliciy)
