Started Spanish Translation!
Even thought im only a teenager (17) i feel like i should help make this a good, funny game that should help people all in the world overcome anxiety , in their own way. i have a sister that has anxiety so it hit me close. Also i will try to be a programming , se seeing past your code might help me :P (Btw im totally new to all this so it will take a while, but if just translating it will be fast)
I'll happily lend a hand! It would really help a lot of people I know... eheh, one tends to associate with similarly minded folk, after all.
Uh, anyway... @ncase how do we go about this scary thing known as collaborating? I'm kind of ashamed to be a compsci student and still not knowing how git works :/
Oh, sorry, I just saw this after I finished commiting some stuff to another fork. I just finished editing all the images and I'm still at the beginning of translating Act 1.
To collaborate, the best thing would be to get familiarized with Git. Personally I'm using SourceTree (it's free) and since these repositories are public, you can just pull whatever is already on it, and then push with your own changes.
- To get started, download SourceTree: https://www.sourcetreeapp.com/
- Once installed, go to "File > Clone / New...". Where it says "Source Path / URL" you can copy paste this URL: https://github.com/cgormaz/anxiety.git
- For "Destination Path" and "Name", you can leave the default values, same with the one that says "Local Folder: [Root]" and the advanced options.
- Click on the button called "Clone" and wait for it to download everything (it can take a couple of minutes). It should look like this once it's ready (you won't have uncommited changes, though):
- You can now start editing the files that have been downloaded to your computer (like scenes/act2.md for example) using your favorite text-editing software.
- When you feel like pushing your changes (it doesn't have to be 100% ready, just any progress is enough, but make sure your changes are working), you can open SourceTree again, click on the big "Pull" button at the top to make sure your files are up-to-date (this step is very important! Never push anything without pulling first!) and once you are sure you are up-to-date, you can commit your uncommited changes. It should look a bit like this:
When you go to File Status, you'll see all of your edited files under the "Unstaged files" section. From there, you can select the ones you want to commit, and click on the "Stage Selected" button. It will be transfered to the Staged files window, and, if it's code, you'll be able to see a comparison of your changes on the window to the right. You can write a comment below before you commit (where I wrote "Act1 translation in progress") and then click on the "Commit" button.
A pop up message will appear, it can take a couple of seconds or even minutes depending on your connection. After it's ready, you can go back to the History tab (under WORKSPACE) and you'll see your latest commit.
Anyway, all that is left to translate are:
- act1.md
- act2.md
- act3.md
- act4.md
The rest (intermission, intro and promo) have been translated, though it's totally okay if you want to make changes. I won't be able to work on any of the act1~4 files for the next few days, so feel free to work on them.
Oh okay, the only thing I don’t want to translate are the images , I’m working on act 1 and 2 probs , but if you want to translate an act translate 4 just in case, thx
Btw I’m using the simplest editor of all , so I’m just translating , it’s a code reader editor that only lets you change the code , nothing more. Being a traduction job , it’s the best one (? At least for me (Abricotine)
Finished scene 1
Also @Virgo113 and @cgormaz, please use my fork to upload your translations, if not i wont have your contributions, and i cant access cgormaz advances, also be sure you arent translating something that is already translated
Thank you all so much for helping translate! :D Just so you know, I pushed a few more commits recently ( https://github.com/ncase/anxiety/commits/gh-pages , everything past "SHUT UP IT'S DONE"), that might slightly help with translation.
Specifically, index.html actually has notes on what to translate, there's a word-less version of the social sharing thumbnail, and the social sharing buttons can now be translated (as opposed to what it was earlier: the words directly url-encoded in the URL)
Hope that helps! :)
@ncase thx, actually I think the hardest part will be the images , I think in 1 week or 2 we will have all the scenes
The images are ready, but I'm not at home today (today's our national holiday) so I can't transfer them to this other fork until tomorrow (but you can download them from my fork and re-import them)

Hi! I could help with text translation ! @cgormaz
Hi @ncase @Virgo113 @cgormaz Have a nice day, How is going the spanish translation? Where is the Spanish fork repo? I would like to help!
I saw that the original author of this issue is deleted, also I saw exist two spanish forks: one from Cgormaz and another from virgo 113.
The gormaz version has many advances in the translation :)
So whats the overall progress here? I want to help translate it since real-life incidents like this have happened to me and I wanna share this to my school's councelling.
