@palewire, Definitely a possibility - the design supports multiple templates. However, I am curious as to why you like Django over Jinja for _static websites_.
Thats a good reason actually. Having django template support for this version of hyde is a definite possibility - perhaps for 0.9 version. Not sure about the time line though.
Agreed. It is one of primary reasons why the new version of hyde was designed with template abstraction. That said, I still think Jinja2 is better even for dynamic websites....

For now, moving this out of this release - this is better suited for a version that focuses on multi-language features.
@VirtuaCreative - Yes, that list definitely needs some going over :) We have been talking about new themes for hyde.
