How to get curve geometry

According to this RFC, gdal is able to handle curve geometry since 2.0. How does the nodejs interface handle this?

I figured out probably we have to expose this capability from the c++ source. I have no knowledge of c++. Is there a good point to start? Any advice will be helpful! @brianreavis
