Strange rendering of png images. (Sony bug)

Your model / PRS+ version?
PRS-650 with latest nightly but irrelevant. It also happens when booting in 
Safe mode with official software. So I'm pretty sure this is a Sony bug, but if 
you were able to fix it...

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Grab any book from the Project Aon (they're free).
2. Check the strange rendering of the png images.
3. I upload an example screenshot from "Fire on the Water". Here you have the 
download page http://www.projectaon.org/en/Main/FireOnTheWater. Pick the epub 
version.
4. Something is not working properly with the kind of png images that are used 
in these books.
