[iOS] Launch on iOS is stuck the first time you run a project

Environment Provide version numbers for the following components (information can be retrieved by running tns info in your project folder or by inspecting the package.json of the project):

  • CLI: 5.3.0
  • Cross-platform modules: 5.3.1
  • Android Runtime: 5.3.0
  • iOS Runtime: 5.3.0
  • VSCode: 1.32.3

Describe the bug VS Code is stuck on launch on iOS the first time you run a project.

To Reproduce

  1. Execute tns create anywhere and create a project.
  2. Open VS Code with the project.
  3. Configure launch.json for NativeScript
  4. Click Launch on iOS.

The output is stuck at Running tns command....

Expected behavior The app launches on iOS emulator/device.

Additional context Restarting VS Code fixes the issue. The issue doesn't reproduce on Android.
