Option to hide Dock Icon on macOS when use --tray option

Hello all,

is it possible to create an option to hide the dock icon under macOS when using the --tray option?

I know this feature e.g. from the WhatsApp Web App on macOS.

I'm a bit confused, why are you using --tray if you don't want the dock icon?

Probably because the tray is the menubar on top right in macOS, and the dock is bottom center and larger.

@fuzzy76 thanks for kindly pointing out where I was being a dummy! 😆 Sorry for conflating the two terms.

Would this behavior only exist with start-in-tray or would the tray icon be a complete replacement for the dock icon regardless of whether the window is open?

I would say regardless, that is the most common behaviour.
