The gen_app_code.py scrips is not in the repo

Open Somesort opened this issue 4 years ago • 3 comments

The current instructions assume that the file gen_app_code.py exists but it looks like it was never released. It is difficult to complete the training without it.

Will this script be added to the repo or made available elsewhere?

I've just launched the CFS-101 VM for the first time, 2022-06-29.

I seem to find this script here: /home/dev/Training_workspace/CFS-101.initial/tools/gen_app_code/gen_app_code.py

I have not yet advanced through the features of the VM to know if this script is functional, but I do find it in the VM image.

It is a little concerning that this issue is unresolved since almost 1 year ago. Most dates from the project seem to be from the 2017/2018 timeframe.

Is this VM and the cFS public project still in active development?

cFS is active from a general sense (we are working to close out the Draco development cycle now), but not all modules are actively updated based on their distributed ownership and management. See https://github.com/nasa/cFS#other-cfs-related-elementstoolsappsdistributions for related links. I can't speak for CFS-101 since it's historically been maintained by JSC.

CFS-101 is maintained by JSC. We are short of funding & resource at the moment to maintain ALL the cFS tools we put out on github even though cFS and its ecosystem are very actively used at JSC. Hopefully the issue will get resolve soon.
