Can't open PID file /run/ksmbd.lock (yet?)

Does everyone else noticed this error message? I am using the most recent version of ksmbd-tools 3.4.9

ksmbd.service: Can't open PID file /run/ksmbd.lock (yet?) after start: Operation not permitted

I found an issue on the systemd github page: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/16636 But as explained there, it seems to be an application issue not a systemd problem.
