A few suggetions
First of all, congratulations on making a great app, especially the looks of it and its reliability in playing back Yt stuff.
I use it mostly for playing online videos and as such, I have noticed a few things:

That the horizontal scroll bar (to search in the video/skip to a section) is a bit too thin for my liking.

Some videos have chapter but the player does not show them.

Although overall it is a great app with excellent UI and customization options, for some users like me, all those options in the settings menu can be a bit too much, by that I mean confusing and tedious to sort through.

To me the app defaults to playing audio with the option then to switch to video. Since play videos instead of listening to audio, I have to manually choose the option to play the video version each time.

Thicker search bar or search bar inside the video (that appears then disappear shortly after)

Chapter support inside videos.

Upon setup, the choice to pick a simple or a more complex user experience interface. In the simple interface just simple, basic/strictly necessary settings, for the app to function as intended would be offered, whereas the complex one would allow for the full range of customization etc to be displayed. The option to toggle back and forth for user convenience would be a good idea.

Default option to play video instead of audio.

i know that but increasing thickness makes it look bad, and modifying hit test area independandltly from actual size doesnt seem so easy for me i only need to go a bit far from the edge and it absorbs my touch/drag normally

thats planned, not sure when #75 (tho currently u can open description and press on timestamp, most videos have it in description)

its impossible to balance between both, i try to include what makes the experience more unique, ur suggestion is a real solution for this but implementing it won't be easy. i also have no idea whats important for one and not for others. settings should only be a place where u visit when u want to change behaviour of something u noticed, or when u want to play with stuff, other than that u just keep things as it is

if u mean yt section, that might be due to data saver being active for mobile data, set it to off (youtube settings -> flag icon at top right)
also configure ur preferred video qualities in playback settings -> video quality

Indeed I had data savings on,(I had no idea clicking on the flag brought up more settings), switched it off and now videos play directly instead of defaulting to audio. You were also right about timestamps in the description, that works for me until you implement the solution you spoke of as being planned.
As for the other two points, do what is best; I can live with a thin scrollbar and you're right, finding the right balance for the options menu is not easy (nor as you said implementing it; I don't code but I can imagine) and indeed one does not go there all that often. It is just a bit intimidating at first, but once you are set it is alright.
So far this is a very nice app to use.

You're welcome! No rush either on any of those things, for me at least. I can enjoy the app, the most important thing was to have videos playing automatically and that is solved :)
