I see you have SystemSettings hooked. Does setting the theme from the Settings app work as expected?

I did not quite understand that it is you who ask me this question. What do I have to do to check and tell you?

Try setting the theme in Settings: image This only works if you have SystemSettings hook enabled, which you do.

Well, yes, the themes are put in the same way as through the program, but I still have the same except for the background color - nothing changes.

that's weird. can you zip up and upload your entire C:\Windows\Resources\Themes?

namazso avatar Aug 26 '20 12:08 namazso

Themes.zip

image this is rather interesting, i copied over your themes folder and tried applying, and it worked out of the box on my machine.

Can you make sure that SecureUxTheme.dll is loaded by the winlogon.exe process? Here you can see some more info on how to do that: https://github.com/namazso/SecureUxTheme/issues/19

By any chance is your scaling set to 300%? (right click your desktop > display settings)

image Themes don't seem to apply for me either. All they change is colors, backgrounds and cursors. I'm on Windows 10 2004 Build 19041.508.

Could you do the following:

  • Test if hooking SystemSettings and applying a theme in Settings doesn't work either. Ensure that themes are patched (via ThemeTool) before trying
  • Send your Themes folder and a dump of winlogon.exe to [email protected] . Note that the later may contain some personal information including but not limited to: Computer name, User name, Installed programs, Environmental variables, Any text displayed on any window, etc.. I'd suggest you take this dump straight after booting up. If you'd prefer to not do this, that's fine too. Note that the dump will be huge but easily compressible, so I'd recommend doing so.

You can take a dump from Task Manager like this: image
