Identifying SSIDs with emojis

I am trying to set an Auto status for when I am connected to a WiFi that has emojis in the SSID. I've tried using both the dec and hex HTML references for said emojis, but the status doesn't get triggered. Also tried this with Unicode and UTF-8.
