@MarmaladeSky IIRC https://github.com/slick/slick/pull/2785 fixed it for 3.5.x but you wanted it backported, so @jkugiya opened https://github.com/slick/slick/pull/2814 which was waiting for you to test it and not sure what happened after...

Otherwise, in general I'm really busy nowadays but if you want to work on it on a call together I could make time for that.
Could you try, manually or using https://github.com/ldoktor/bisecter, to isolate the 3.5.0 milestone (or RC) when it broke
