GPS as mock

Which mock setup would allow this?

If the external GPS is presented to apps on the phone the same as the built in GPS, then it should work. If it doesn't work, please get me a logcat showing how the external GPS is made available.

I find this interesting as gps is a huge battery suck. How does one capture a logcat? (on osx)
