Xtra not found?

Open iamdco opened this issue 4 months ago • 10 comments

The following error occurs when using

Director Player Error Xtra not found

"console"

Script Error. Continus?

If you select "Yes", multiple errors will appear

Am I missing some basic settings? Thanks

Try copying the program to your desktop instead of running it from the shared folder. If that doesn't work, maybe there is an incompatibility between the Xtra and Japanese Windows XP. Can you try English Windows 7 or Windows 10? If you are using a Japanese system because you think that is necessary to properly export the text, just know that the text encoding can usually be converted afterwards.

You might need to install the Visual C++ redistributable (vc_redist.x86.exe) from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145 If that doesn't work, please try a newer operating system, or if your content was created with Director 10 or older, try using the D10 version of Director Cast Ripper.

My Comuter -> Advanced -> Environment Variables

Is there any setting required here? Thanks

What happens if you choose to continue after the script error? The program may work fine anyway. Also, is there a reason you need to be using Windows XP?

I use Win7 and Win10 and the same problem occurs Director Player Error Xtra not found

Using winxp is a virtual machine, which can maintain a clean working environment and facilitate finding problems

Selecting "Continue" will start the program, but the data cannot be exported. Because the required Xtra

Can you please check whether the Console.x32 file exists in Cast Ripper's Xtras\Xtras\ThirdParty folder? If not, try re-downloading Cast Ripper and unzipping it again. If the file does exist, I don't know why Cast Ripper would be failing to load just this one Xtra out of all of the Xtras that the program uses.

By the way, if you have Discord please feel free to add me - I don't check GitHub more than once a day usually. My Discord username is nosamu (with an o not a zero)

Hi @iamdco - here is a new build of the D10 variant of Cast Ripper for you to test. Does this resolve the problem for you? (Just replace DirectorCastRipper.exe with this one) DirectorCastRipper.zip
