Enhancement: Always maximize to own new virtual desktop

Mac osx always maximizes an application to a new virtual desktop. New other windows (not maximized) get opened on another Desktop without a maximized window.

Is there an option to copy this behaviour?

When you say maximized you mean full screen right? Typically, in the Windows world, maximized means fill the screen without overlapping the taskbar. It seems like it would only make sense if you do in fact mean full-screen. Seems like an interesting idea. Let me think about it.

I was also looking for a feature like this. To automatically move a window to a new virtual desktop when its maximized. I wasn't able to find one, so I created a small tool Productiv. It's still in early stages. and might not work in some windows versions. If it doesn't work, please open an issue and ill fix is ASAP.

I don't see any value in this functionality. Maybe if when a window goes full-screen, but even then it's hard for me to see any value. This has some value on Mac because mac doesn't have a Taskbar in the same way that Windows does.

If you want to help me understand the value I am open to hear your use case examples or opinion.

Also on Mac, each monitor can be showing a different virtual desktop. This is why there is value for this on Mac but not on Windows IMO.

I used to use a mac and when I switched to windows, I greatly missed the maximize to new window feature. Although there's not a need for it, its a really good feature to have. Maybe because its easier and more intuitive to switch windows using the four finger gesture than the three finger gesture. Its just a nice to have. and for me it increases the productivity as well.

Another great feature on macs. Awesome if we can implement in windows as well.

I don't see the point with that in Windows either. We can pin windows to show on all desktops which is similar.

Can you elaborate on how this functionality increases your productivity? I feel like it would hinder the Windows virtual desktop flow.

Without Microsoft changing the way it works or someone completely recreating it all from scratch, the monitor virtual desktop support will never be supported on Windows.
