Given any thought to deployment scenarios that might involve "read-only" filesystems?

I've got a build environment which creates "read-only filesystem" versions of pre-built output, and then runs the read only version in a container.

Will hard source just error out and break a build while trying to write to unwritable files, or will it still use any cache it has, just not write anything new?

(sorry for not testing this scenario myself with hard-source yet, it's just not convenient)

I.E. in order to get this deployment environment working with babel-cli's babel-node I needed to set BABEL_DISABLE_CACHE=1 to stop it from trying to write to it's cache and crashing

I've had this issue, it just errors out. Trying to use fs.access() to test if folder can be written to. if true, write cache, if not, ignore and dont use plugin.

Not having much luck so far.
