Can't launch the app with android 12

Open changemenemo opened this issue 2 years ago • 7 comments

Can't get any dialog to give the vpn permission. So the app closes at launch with the error message that the permission should be given. Tried with the f-droid version on latest grapheneOS and divestOS which are based on android 12.

Reinstall the Mysterium VPN, it seems like you didn't allowed during the initial app load-up.

Already done 3 times and I ve done it on 2 devices which is one on divestOS and another one on grapheneOS ... so clearly it's not user depending since on several install and several devices I didn't get any dialog.

You should add a guideline or an if somewhere at the start of the app. At the opposite of the other vpns whether it's PIA, Ivpn , protonvpn or even lavabit proxy, they all allow the app to be launched but informed the user that another vpn is in use or block the use of their app. Your android app is not even launching and thus AOSP is informing the user wrongly even about the cause of the problem.

Can you add a screen-record video here while you install the Mysterium VPN?

Good Suggestion, I'll create an issue later about it.

Had the same problem. After reading this issue I remembered that I have configured a "Always On" VPN.

I have created a issue for this problem. #784
