Recognition of external Japanese characters
Hi! ^^
In the process of translating the game into Russian, we decided to check it against Japanese, and found that the texts could not be exported because a significant portion of the characters referenced external Japanese hieroglyphs, for which there was no textual recognition. As a result, we compiled an atlas of unique hieroglyphs and recognized them, after which we associated them with game locations.
If you wish, you can use it in Deling to display real hieroglyphs in the text, instead of tags like {Jp000}.
This is the final, ready to use config: ExternalCharacters.json
And here is the source atlas in case you want to check that we haven't made any mistakes: References.zip
I didn't know there was so much kanji in the game. I thought it'd be more hiragana and katakana.
Someone had submitted a codepage for Japanese to OpenVIII. Might not be related.

I never did get around to seeing if it was working correctly.
Thanks for this work! I could certainly add this mapping by default in Deling
Hi @Albeoris I am also interested as if you translate the game you'll need to translate others files than just field.fs, and you can do it with shumiTranslator but not with the japanese version, so I am pretty interested in your work.

Yep, but this is only base part of it. :)
