Some recommendations for placement and wording here:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1PF5refZ033Enh-cgw_x-yWacHZNUUxOeLPIdU674u60/edit

Placement 1.Facebook and Twitter buttons on the "Your message is on its way" screen that the user sees after clicking the confirmation link. 2. Facebook and Twitter buttons on the final questionnaire response page.

Possible wording

  1. On the success screen: I just contacted my [MP/councillor/MEP etc] on www.WriteToThem.com - and so can you! #WriteToThem
  2. On the questionnaire completion screen: I contacted my [MP/councillor/MEP etc] on www.WriteToThem.com #WriteToThem

Also - add tracking for outbound links to the site code, so we can see how many people go to Twitter or FB from each placement. This involves setting up an Event for each button click: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1136920?hl=en-GB

Here's an unprovoked example of exactly the sort of tweet users might want to send.

Bit late for this year, but it would also have been good to have a tweet button next to postcode look-up on https://www.writetothem.com/stats/2013/.

As per #270, we're closing the WTT social media accounts.

That doesn't mean that we shouldn't still do this though. Hopefully we can mention "@mySociety's WriteToThem" in the text or just put something like 'I just used WriteToThem.com to send a message to my [rep]'.
