'Campaigned to remain in/leave the EU'
An MP has written to point out that they are represented as having campaigned to remain in the EU, but that this is inaccurate wording.
They voted to remain but says they did not campaign.
We use the BBC story here for this data point. The title for the section containing the MP in this story is 'Labour MPs who say they will campaign to remain in EU' so we are just reflecting that.
However, the article uses several phrases ("want to remain in the EU"; "have put on the record their intention to campaign to remain in the EU"; "back the UK leaving the EU" etc - but also "have stated their intention to campaign to remain in the EU" which is pretty definite) as it goes through ministers and MPs from each party so it's possible it's just a matter of style.
