Broken link in request confirmation email
A user got in touch because the link in their confirmation email for submitting a new request was broken.
https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/c/ rendered as a clickable link, but the token that followed did not.
This may be linked to other user reports of issues with links rendering in plain text emails.
This appears to have happened again. We'll see if there are any developments. I think it possibly is a plain-text issue. Here, the link had been fully rendered in the HTML reply, though, so slightly different from before.

When I sent the same link back as a full-HTML link, the user reported that it worked.
I think this is just their mail client – we just send a plain text email, so there's not much we can do here (without implementing #3420)
Just to note that I have dealt with multiple support requests from people unable to open links since this was closed. A much higher number than would be typical.
Hmm, in that case perhaps a change to a popular mail client has done something that breaks these.
Next time it happens could you try to obtain a screenshot? Uploading a partially redacted version here would be really useful (redact any PII of the user, and then a small redaction to the confirmation code in the URL – 8 characters in the middle of the code should be fine)
