Automate some, or ideally all, classifications

Open RichardTaylor opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Having just done some classifying on WhatDoTheyKnow I get the impression some could be automated via the detection of key phases.

Perhaps if we didn't trust such automation entirely initially it could be used as part of a system for classifying request status' in bulk.

Yes and no.

The problem is that authorities are often pretty good at writing responses that say things like: "We are pleased to be able to respond to your request in full as follows: We do not hold the information". They'll also say "not held" when they mean zero, which is sometimes best marked successful.

Standard refusal notices for s8, s14 or s12 (at a push) should be easier to spot. I sometimes search for these and bulk classify that way.

Linking to related ticket #4918 - there is some nuance here, so I don't think these are duplicates.
