Using this with Plex Meta Manager - Don't wipe labels/overlays

Open stevezau opened this issue 2 years ago • 2 comments

Hi,

I plan to use this with Plex Meta Manager.

Plex MEta Manager does not use imdb datasets, so this tool is far faster to update the ratings daily.

However, when using this with Plex Meta Manager, this tool removes the labels, etc. eg (Remove) Stripping useless badge data (RT, TMDB, TVDB) for: What Might Be

Is there any way to tell this tool not to to touch the metadata besides the IMDb rating?

Thanks

+1 for this. Once I figure out how to use UpdateTool without corrupting my library, I will use both!

Edit: Although, you get weird behavior when you store both audience and critic ratings (with IMDb as your ratings source for the movie Library) on the iOS app (but not web app): the critic rating (rotten tomatoes in my case when I updated that field with plex-meta-manager) supercedes IMDb with the RT %, and displays a generic star icon. I could not fix this until I used plex-meta-manager to reset all audience ratings for movies, tv shows, and tv episodes. Not sure how to resolve this. It'd be nice to store RT info as critic ratings, so while it won't show it on the movie/show/episode details, you can use and view it when you filter a library. Plex has some weird rules.

This has been implemented with the capability flag DONT_STRIP_OTHER_RATING_PROVIDERS with 1.8.2.
