[FEATURE] Replace Pacman Configuration in setup-arch.sh with Interactive pacman.sh

Open fesowowako opened this issue 10 months ago • 3 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Could you remove the Pacman configuration section I added in setup-arch.sh and instead make the pacman.sh script appear for the user during the installation with ml4w-hyprland-setup? This approach will be far more efficient, as it gives the user the option to select what they want, and it will look much neater. The current setup applies everything automatically without giving the user a choice, which isn't ideal.

Describe the solution you'd like

I would like to remove the Pacman configuration section from setup-arch.sh and instead have the pacman.sh script prompt the user during the installation with ml4w-hyprland-setup. This will give the user the ability to choose what they want to install, making the process more efficient and cleaner.

I have removed this section again from the setup-arch.sh script. Will see how to add the pacman.sh in the next version again.

@mylinuxforwork Is it possible to get this done in version 2.9.8, only if you’ve got the time? It should’ve been sorted a while ago, to be honest. Personally, I’m not entirely sure how to handle it myself, which is why I’m waiting on you to take care of it when you can. Hopefully, that’ll be soon.

The script is still there in the .config/ml4w/scripts/arch in case that a user wants to run it. Cannot make it before the release planned for the weekend. The plan for the next version is to add it as an Option to the system menu in the welcome app.
