[BUG] Readme and wiki don't explain how to restore backup

Open abstractionmage opened this issue 1 year ago • 6 comments

Describe the bug When running the installation script for your hyprland dotfiles, it asked me if it should make a backup of everything that it overwrites, to which I answered "Yes", yet I have no idea how to restore that backup and couldn't find any information about that in the project's readme or wiki.

Distribution:

  • Arch Linux

@abstractionmage That is a good point. Will add a chapter in the Wiki.

Any updates on this?

I make some tweaks here and there in your configuration (custom keybindings etc) yet on each update they get wiped off even though I accept every backup option when running ml4w-hyprland-setup.

I have the same question. I'm holding off the update because I have some things I tweaked. What is the procedure and how does the update actually work?

You should find the nackups in the .ml4w-hyprland folder. In backup you will find the latest backup. In archive the older ones. From there you can copy your files or changes back to the dotfiles folder.
