Supporting Maven Doxia would allow use of Markdown in Maven-generated sites (including our own). Instead of transforming Markdown to HTML, the Markdown would be parsed and represented using the Sink generic markup interface. It can then be transformed to PDF, HTML, or any of several content formats.
