Create index file only, Do not mount.
I use ratarmount for save many indexs of tarballs I own. All I need is the SQLite3 database file, No need to mount the archive too.
Please could you add a option like --no-mount for this purpouse?
Heh! I came here to request the exact same feature.
I have a lot of file-based split archives (rather than byte-based) stored on a remote server I access with rclone. My theory is that mounting these will go significantly faster with a ready made index file i can create before uploading the archives to the remote. But I don't yet have enough experience with ratarmount to know if my theory is correct.
Please mxmlkn, perhaps you can confirm this? Thank you!
Wow, three votes in one day for this feature request. I hacked something simple together on the create-index branch, which can be installed with:
python3 -m pip install --user --force-reinstall \
'git+https://github.com/mxmlnkn/ratarmount.git@create-index#egginfo=ratarmountcore&subdirectory=core' \
'git+https://github.com/mxmlnkn/ratarmount.git@create-index#egginfo=ratarmount'
Is this sufficient?
Yes! Awesome! Works great on my end. Thank you very much @mxmlnkn!
@mxmlnkn, Yes your update works great for me too. Thank you kind sir. :)
