Oh I see, jpillora/installer uses github releases. Well they really *should* support all common archive formats.
I guess we can start adding `.gz` to releases too. If we were extra keen we could write a script to retroactively add `.gz` to previous releases as well.
I am running a script to update all releases with `.gz` files and new releases will also publish `.tar.gz` files.
`installer` should still support `.xz` files IMO (easy to do if they use `pkgxdev/setup@v3` ofc). It’s not ubiquitous, I agree, but it is *common*.
no clue from my end
Probs worth opening the issue upstream. If you followed their instructions and it doesn't work it's over to them.
I'm not sure we have it, but I don't think we should pkg up gui apps before tea/gui
Thanks for the heads up, we'll monitor. Nothing occurs for why this would happen currently, especially since reinstall worked unexpectedly.
I have yet to experience it. If I do I'll be able to figure it out. Until then I’ll keep noodling.
Unfortunately I cannot reproduce, but this does give me ammunition to try and figure it out. Thanks.,
