Closing this since `configopaque` is now available. #6851 tracks adoption of the package on core and contrib configuration structs.

IIUC this was eventually fixed, so I am closing as completed

The latest tag is now reliably updated, and we decided to keep the binary rename so I am closing this :)

As mentioned on open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-contrib/issues/4055, our current versioning guidelines require that stable components on both core and contrib have a stable public Go API, I think we should mention this explicitly...
