no tables in SMS database

Sometimes I encounter the following sqlite errors. The tables for the SMS are not present in the backup.

Hi, thanks for reporting that. Could you check if the file is actually a sqlite database? Sometimes the file is just empty and that's the error you get. We could try to improve the error message tho

@besendorf May I ask, where do you find the sms.db? I had a backup made from an iPhone and did not find it...

I also encountered this error message and was wondering if it may have something to do with how the acquisition is performed: with the sim card inserted, with the sim card and the passcode inputed, in plane mode? My thoughts were the SMS would not be accessible due to presence or not of the SIM card in the device.

Hey, I also encountered this issue. I checked the database MVT pointed at, for some reason it detects it as malformed and attempts to recover it - and by doing this the DB goes from 20 MB to 4 KB, then I get the error message it doesn't have the "message" table - which the original file before MVT's intervention does have.

In another device, MVT also tried to recover a completely ok db file, and after it "recovered" it, it did not manage to detect any of the SMS messages.

Any ideas what I can do about this? I'm adding a screenshot for reference
