Get all conversation with its user

Is there a way to get a list of conversations with users (not logged user). For example, I am logged in and I want to list all my direct conversations along with users with whom I have this conversation. In conversation objects we have participants but I can't use that. I am not sure if could convey my issue or not. But simply I want to build my app like facebook messenger. All users with their conversations are listed. I would be grateful for your help.
