When opening a large v3.3.4 score in 4.2.1/4.3, MS hangs (application stops responding) when resetting all styles to default

Bug description
Resetting all styles to default on this large score from v.3.3.4 in either 4.2.1 or 4.3 causes MS to hang indefinitely (application stops responding).

I cannot reproduce this behaviour with a similarly large score made in 3.6.
Steps to reproduce
- Open the v.3.3.4 score in MS 4.2.1 or 4.3 (this takes a very long time – see https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/21620).
- Select All, then Reset shapes and positions: This works fine :-)
- With everything still selected, open Format > Styles
- Click "Reset all styles to default"
MS hangs and eventually the application stops responding.

Additional context
Some further investigation is still likely to be required here. My main concern is that users with large scores made in older versions will struggle to update their engraving to the new layout defaults. @oktophonie my suspicion is that this might need some debugging on the engraving side, but feel free to re-assign as necessary.
