unable to re-import configuration

I have installed the Flatpak, configured a local config dir and added some hosts. I have then removed the application and installed the Flatpak again. Even though the parameters for encryption and the config directory where still the same (some parts stored in dconf?), the existing configuration is not shown anymore. Is there a way to backup/restore the configurations?

Only the user preferences are stored in dconf, the preferences defined in the preferences window. All host and account settings are stored in the files and can be read again. Verify that the path set to the settings is correct.

When I did the same I had to restore my config from a copy I had made previously, when it started up it cleared the original populated config file.

(just realised how old this issue is but the comment is still relevant imo)
