Agree on a common default license for scripts in this project

Currently only a few scripts have an explicit @license (or even @licence :-)), and we have a mix of X11 and GPL (without explicit version: 2? 3?).

I think it would be great to agree on a common default license for most scripts. Then for each script without explicit license, we could contact individual authors to make sure they agree with the chosen license.

Here are some options for the default license:

• [ ] Apache 2
• [ ] GPL 2
• [ ] GPL 3
• [ ] Other license?
