OSX keyboard shortcuts don't differentiate between left/right cmd/option

I use cmd as PTT, and alt/option as a whisper, however, my mumble client (1.2.19) doesn't differentiate between the left or right cmd/option keys. Either of the two cmd keys sets off the PTT, etc.
