Have a preference option to always start viewing rooms at newest message

I prefer having my room view jump to the newest messages, not the last ones I read, it would be nice imo if this was configurable.

FYI the initial room is the same every time (the room ids are sorted in lexicographic order, and the first one is picked).

The ordering of course changes when a room gets messages, so this could be implemented by making the initial switch after the messages have been received.

I don't understand your comment there, I was talking about the main chat panel where the messages live?

Oh sorry, I completely misunderstood the issue. I thought you were talking about the room list & specifically about which room opens first when you start the app.

So you're saying to always scroll down automatically on new messages?

yeah, when I switch to a room, the majority of the time I want to see the newest messages.
