Panning with mouse Button2 does not seem to work

sxiv(1):

Pan the image according to the mouse cursor position in the window while keeping button pressed down.

It does not seem to work on v26 Can someone please tell or show me what I am doing wrong (assuming that this is actually not a bug)?

It works fine on my end. The image needs to be zoomed in enough to have room for panning to begin with, otherwise there's nothing to pan.
