recent socket allows one to serve from a path: https://stackoverflow.com/a/31658307

this would allow one to run the socketio-over-nodejs server from the same https host as the main page

I have tried to upgrade the Pluginfree-Screen-Sharing experiment, but I broke it (although no error is reported in the browser console of either peer)

if it can help I can publish my work so far / create a PR
