Systray icon too dark

Open olvll opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Under Xubuntu/XFCE with a dark toolbar, the icon for mkchromecast is nearly invisible because it is also dark. Can you please make it adapt automatically to choose a contrasting icon, or at least make it configurable for the user? Thank you.

at least in version 0.3.9 the tray icon is configurable via preferences (a restart is needed to apply it). ...but you are right choosing a contrasting icon automatically would be awesome. - i nearly uninstalled mkchromecast again after a quick first shot because i thought nothing happened. :grimacing: -> perhaps for now choosing the blue by default would prevent overlooking the icon for most users,

While there is an option, it doesn't seem to change anything. I tried relaunching after change the setting. It shows the correct option in preferences, but doesn't seem to apply it. Xubuntu 20.04.

I am so relieved I was directed to this post. I have spent all day trying to find out how to change Notification Area Icons specifically to be able to see the mkchromecast icon which was invisible atop my dark wallpaper. There is NO documentation on this app. I have been googling it all day trying to learn basic commands and how to cast from a networked drive and I have seen nothing about this fix until I was pointed here.
