Headless mkchromecast streaming

I am trying to stream local videos and audio from a headless install and command line. I have not been able to stream anything so far.

The only success with some random delay is to run

"mkchromecast" and then play a file like this pacmd play-file /tmp/foo.wav Mkchromecast

Have anyone any tips how to stream files from command line without a X11 Display?
