`xattr` does not sufficiently enable the use of the MacOS application

Specs:

• Apple M3 Pro
• macOS Sequoia Version 15.2

Repro:

• Download
• Unzip
• Move Onyx.app to /Applications/
• Open Terminal
• Run `xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Onyx.app
• Attempt to open Onyx.app → "Finder does not have permission to open (null)"

I followed a recommendation at macrumors forum that worked.

codesign --remove-signature /Applications/Onyx.app
codesign --force --deep --sign - /Applications/Onyx.app
