Unstable on DS(i)
Describe the bug The DS version (which can also be run on DSi via hbmenu) has some stability issues. For this issue I've tested on DS (Phat) with an R4 card to rule out DSi incompatibilities. Some of the issues encountered are:
- When deleting a file, sometimes it fails with an "Unknown operation" error
- Other times, when deleting a file the server closes the connection and takes a while to restart"
- Even other times, it closes, and then the applications errors out saying "socket: Not enough space"
- It won't connect to WiFi until I put the DS to sleep and wake it up again
Note: on DSi, the application can connect and read the SD card, but it still only connects via WEP, but I don't consider this an issue because I've heard stories of how hard it is to get WPA support working on DSi (the only homebrew I know of with WPA support is nocash's Wifiboot, which iirc is written in Assembly)
dswifi is not really well-equipped enough to handle the socket turnover rate of an ftp server. All of these problems are expected except for maybe the "Unknown operation" error when deleting a file. Do you have any logs from when this happens?
By logs, is there a way to have the software generate them?
I just mean what shows up on the screen
Hope to add WPA support, now many routers do not support WEP
Unfortunately adding WPA support to DS Homebrew is not easy. Also please dont randomly post off topic things in ongoing issues
These sound like the issues I've ran into, or at least ran into more commonly, without the forceclosesocket() kludge. I'm aware that it shouldn't be used this way, but short of actually fixing dswifi I don't see a short-term remedy.
I have tried using forceclosesocket instead, but it still suffered the same issues.
Yea man same issues here I barely can get dir working.. I use these settings on my ftp client, is there anything you recommend me to try?
ftpd isn't currently usable on DSi. Work is ongoing to improve the situation. There is nothing that can be done until devkitPro release library updates.
