Hello

I use "cachet" with "cachet-url-monitor" just perfect :)

I would like to know if it is possible to ping a server or appilance (switch, firewall ...)

Is there a free solution or module;)

Unfortunately, based on the current implementation it can only monitor URLs. That would require a new implementation and it's indeed an awesome idea. If you're willing to help contribute on this, we can start a new repo and work on it :)

@JujuBois which appliances were you thinking of? Would a ping request be enough to determine if the appliances are up?
